My Introduction
Hello Everyone,
I'm Kate from Waukesha. I like to listen to a variety of music, my favorite band being Dave Matthews Band. (Haven't missed their concert at Alpine Valley for 6 years now) I work for OnYourMark, LLC. - the company that publishes this, and many other resourceful Wisconsin websites. Actually Stoney, when I was in high school we did a fundraiser at Alpine for 3 summers. It was the best summers ever!! We got into all the concerts for free, and all we had to do was sell lemonade and pretzels at the stands along the grounds. Great experience! I've seen just about every concert that was there during those summers. For Dave Matthews Band I like the grass seats. It's an experience in itself just being there. My favorite memory was just after Rick James died, Dave came on stage to do his sound check before the gates opened and made all the workers clear out of the area. We didn't realize this little evacuation and ended up sitting on the grass listening to Dave do a sound check to his version of Superfreak. It was like our own private concert - he must've seen the three bodies laying out on the hill and he said hi and played a song for us. Amazing!
Besides Dave, I saw Ozzfest which was.. quite a show, Korn/LinkinPark and Snoop Dogg, Jon Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, The Dead (Grateful Dead without Jerry Garcia), Phish (absolutely awesome concert and one of their last ever!), Radiohead, OAR, and so many more. And yes... I saw Jimmy!! What a great concert that was. The crowd had an amazing upbeat attitude. One of the things I loved the most about Alpine (besides their Great margaritas and music) was people watching. Absolutely fascinating! |
