Have you seen a 135-foot wind turbine?
Randall Schramm is missing one.
The giant steel structure was taken sometime in the last week from a Town of Sherman farm, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department. The wind turbine is valued at about $15,000 and was last seen Aug. 11, said Capt. Dave Adams.
“This is a first for us,” Adams said. “I’ve never heard of a windmill being stolen before.”
The wind turbine was reported missing Saturday morning by Schramm, a 56-year-old Muskego resident who owns the turbine and the 38-acre plot it sits on at N1742 Highway I, Adams said. It consisted of a 120-foot galvanized steel base and three approximately 15-foot fiberglass and Kevlar blades.
