Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - A Chippewa County auction catches the attention of collectors from all over the U.S.
A Chippewa Falls woman auctioned off more than 750 dolls Saturday. Edwina Nelson has been collecting dolls for decades, but she decided to auction them off because she has cancer and wants to share her collection with others. Edwina says she picked up this hobby from her mother.

I don't "collect" them but picked up a couple vintage Madame Alexander dolls (Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Alice from Alice in Wonderland) at the local flea market for $6 each. Both still have all their original clothing and tags.
Years ago, my mom and I brokered a deal where we ran across a houseful of dolls. We knew an out of state dealer who bought them for $15,000 and we made a $2500 finder's fee.
