Default The Boogie Men

"The midwest’s favorite 1970’s throwbacks show that life isn’t all just limousines, babes & playing for thousands…"

Check them out!!> http://www.boogiemen.com

These guys have a GREAT website & extremely different look to them in terms of bands "now-a-days". On their site you can "Learn to Disco Dance" watch videos, listen to music, view their upcoming calendar, read all about them, and so much more!!

As written by their website:
Meet the Band!~

Curtis Sweetwater-Jones
Drums
Curtis is the quiet yet ingenius member of the band. He is dually famous, as he is equally known for both being the drummer of the B-Men as well as being the Co-Founder of what has become known as the “Courtesy Flush,” (Formerly known as the “Curtisy Flush”). When asked about his “Claim to fame” Curtis unassumingly replies “It could’ve been anyone; I’m just glad to know that I’ve done my dooty to keep this world a “Sweet” smelling place!”

Randy Randy Rodriguez
(first one’s an adjective, second one’s a noun)
Lead Guitar/Vocals
The newest member of the band, “Triple R” hales from Puerto Rico. He developed his passion for music at an early age, singing work songs on his father’s pickle farm in Ponce (His favorite was, “A Ponce pickle Is a Primo Pickle”). Randy enjoys bathtub snorkeling and yodeling in his spare time and is an accomplished whittler (He can turn a log into a duck call before you can peel a banana). Tripple R’s favorite color is yellow (The color of chaos and insanity).
If he wasn’t a Boogie Man, Randy says he’d be a yodeling gondelier on Lake Beulah.

Lamont du Fontaine
Saxophone
Lamont “Yomamazgaddafadass” Du Fontaine was raised by wild raccoons and learned to play saxophone at age 1 1/2 as a defense mechanism (The shrill, shrieking bawls deterred predators). He’s had a rough time adjusting to our society and still finds solace in digging through residential garbage cans, But he can play the heck out of a sax. Lamont’s favorite color is black (The color of nocturnal trash feelings).
If he wasn’t a Boogie Man, Lamont says that he’d be one of the guys who puts the caps on beer bottles as they pass on a conveyor (he doesn’t understand automation).

JJ Cleophus Washington
Keyboard/Vocals
JJ divides his time equally between his passion for co-ed, naked cribbage and administering to the congregation of his very own church, The Church of Bootie. When asked about the peculiar 297:1 woman to man ratio among his parishioners, JJ responds, “yeah, kind of a sausage fest, but we’re working on it.” On off days, JJ enjoys indoor kite-flying and reading ridiculous warning labels that state the obvious (”Do Not Ingest” on a quart of motor oil). His favorite color is Purple. (The color of whack jobs). If he wasn’t a Boogie Man, JJ says he’d be the pilot of Bill Clinton’s private jet (Something about “thats where all the action is”).

Luke Master Flash
Bass/Vocals
Known for his immense presence and sisporportionately large pituitary gland, Mr. Flash is a champion mammoth wrestler (A sport which took a massive blow to its popularity with the extinction of that particular animal). In his spare time, LMF enjoys playing Ding Dong Ditch (Using only a tricycle for escape) and listening to barbershop quartets. His favorite color is puce (The color of…almost nothing).
If he wasn’t a Boogie Man, Luke Master Flash says he’d be a bouncer at the Playboy Mansion.

Dr.Detroit Goldenstone
Lead Vocals
Dr. Detroit is the sensitive one in the band. He enjoys reading romance novels and sipping Champipple (a delightful mixture of Champaign and Ripple) by the fake fireplace (he calls the light from the faux logs “Glow for his Flow”). On his days off, Dr. Detroit also enjoys participating in thumb wrestling tournaments held regularly at the CDHT (Center for Dudes With Huge Thumbs). The Doctor’s favorite color is red (the color of love).
If Dr. D wasn’t a Boogie Man, he says he’d be head of Victoria’s Secret catalog…For Free.

The website also had descriptions of their albums:

Superparty_The CD that started it all! 1999’s “Superparty!” Featuring The Reverend & The Doctor’s theme song on the Bob & Brian program, “Super Sexy Barbeque,”as well as “Jive Turkey” & of course “Superparty.” An instant classic!

A Thing of Bootie_The Boogie Men’s follow-up effort to 1999’s “Super Party” is aptly titled “A Thing of Bootie.” The B-Men, as their loyal fans call them, have been a wildly popular Milwaukee based, afro-headed homage to the Disco era for the past several years.
On this 11 track, all original disc, they stray slightly from the straight Disco vibe of their last disc; now dabbling in hip-hop, R & B, rock and even techno while never losing touch with their funk flavored roots.
From the record’s opening Dr. Dre groove of “Boogie Nation” to the radio-ready ballad “Come Away,” this disk has something for everyone.
